La Conner Lighted Boat Parade

I've never attended this specific event, but I've been to La Conner many times, and I have no reservations in stating that it is a very special little town. Historical buildings, quaint, fascinating shops - it's a wonderful place to relax. An afternoon trip to stroll through downtown, towards an encounter with a freshly-baked raspberry cinammon roll or some other luscious pastry at the Calico Cupboard...culiminating in the lighted boat parade at 6:30, maybe followed by dinner at Palmer's Lighthouse Restaurant... (which, incidentally, is the former Bellingham Yacht Club building - it was towed down to La Conner on a barge).

Give yourself plenty of time to explore downtown in a leisurely fashion. My guess is that you won't regret it, even if you don't buy a single thing.

  • Where: La Conner, Washington

  • When: Dec 8, 2007, 6:30 PM

  • What: The Swinomish Yacht Club and the LaConner Kiwanis will set off on for its traditional run from the Port of LaConner, turning south along the LaConner waterfront and ending up in Shelter Bay. The theme for this year's parade is "Isle of Misfit Toys."
